Architectural photography is the art of interpreting the dramatic art and form of translating three dimensional subjects into a two dimensional form. Behind every great interior or exterior photograph is great lighting design. Light is what gives an image energy and depth. It makes a sofa look worthy of a “catnap” and gives a breakfast nook a “sunnyside up” appeal. In order to achieve architectural image success, a photographer must know light, know where the ambient light is coming from and where to put any additional lighting that may be needed to maximize the scene. Whether interiors or exteriors , we generally scout ahead of time almost all our architectural locations to determine the best time of day and lighting requirements.
